The rules of golf are there for a reason. It keeps everyone anchored in the same game.
Please do not lie about your score. We are all trusted to be honest about our game.
Using foul language is very disrespectful on the golf course. I know bad shots can make you angry, but try to hold back the rage.
Look presentable when playing the game. Collard shirts tucked in, golf pants or shorts, and golf shoes are highly suggested.
The slightest of sound can distract a players concentration. Please remain quiet until after they hit.
If your group is moving slow and holding up other groups, let them play through. This is a sign of respect.
When on the green, do not step in another player's line between their ball and the hole.
Standing directly behind a player can be a distraction.
Not everybody is a good golfer. It is rude to make fun of another player. Remember, we all have a different skill level.
Try to arrive at the course 20 to 30 minutes before your tee time. This allows you to pay, load up your cart if riding, and hit a few practice putts. Arrive 1 hour early if you want to hit the range.
A good way to keep up your pace of play is to play ready golf. This means the first person ready to hit goes first.
Unless necessary, try to avoid using your phone. The golf course is meant to have fun with others, and it is respectful to be engaged with your friends.
After hitting out of a bunker, use the rake to fix the sand. This is respectful to other golfers who enter it.
If someone else is keeping score, it is good to tell them what you got as soon as you make your putt.
This one is pretty self explanatory. You might get mad, but keep your composure.
If you make plans to golf with buddies, don't back out unless absolutely necessary.
Theres nothing worse than hitting out of someone else's divot. Please replace grass and repair divots on the green.
Most courses have a sign where golf carts must return to cart path. If a course doesn't, use common sense and stay away from the green.
